The Ecstasy Fate List

The things that could have killed me before July 2013

There were several incidents that communicated to me that my making it to July 2013 to release The Ecstasy then, was not guaranteed and that I should step things up and get the novel done and released ASAP.

  • Superstorm Sandy - October 22, 2012 – October 31, 2012
  • the nor'easter of November 7-10 2012
  • 35 car pileup on the LIE on December 19, 2012. I was on this section of the LIE when the traffic first started to build up due to road work and closure of the right eastbound lane. Just minutes after we came to a halt, emergency vehicles were rushing to the accident which was just down the road behind us. Had I gotten on the LIE just a couple of minutes later I would have been in the thick of it. 35 car pileup
  • the blizzard of January 7, 2013
  • starting to feel chest pains frequently
  • being assigned a bus to drive that was releasing toxic fumes directly into the area of the air I breath. (the mechanics and dispatchers continue to deny there is anything unsafe with these 6-8 year old buses)
  • got in a small fender bender accident yesterday, May 7, 2013, on the Long Island Expressway (LIE). The cars in front of me stopped due to rush hour traffic. I stopped. The woman behind me stopped. The guy behind her didn't stop and knocked her car into the back of mine. Fortunately no serious injuries occured but it was definitely aggravating and gave a scare.
